//This course aims at the qualitative studies in design field. The class will teach the theory, methodology, results of current qualitative design studies. The classic qualitative design studies are the main contents. The methodology will cover observation, interview, case studies, and protocol analysis. Each methodology will be taught with two classic papers. The first part of the class is to introduce the theoretical framework of qualitative design studies. The second is to present the order and method of understanding a qualitative design study. Finally, students will practically operate each method in a workshop of design studies. This class intends to include design researchers and design practitioners. What students learn will help them in conducting qualitative design studies in research and users observation in practice.
